Rock Spotters is an ongoing body of work emerging from the speculative world of the Passed Lives’ Excessive Future Foundation. It stages an imagined society devoted to the study and guardianship of rocks as animate witnesses. Sculptural interventions, mirrored silhouettes, and “rock clocks” activate a hermetic shimmer—a perceptual flicker in which the inanimate world oscillates between object and omen. Operating as a splinter organization, the Rock Spotters extend the Foundation’s legacy of nomadic ritual into the registers of geology and folklore, recoding stones as archives, portals, and unstable instruments of time. Hinted at through archival fragments and networked traces, they appear as a hybrid order—part scientific collective, part mythological lodge, part digital subculture—occupying the uncanny infrastructures of the early 21st century
